Nicole’s Rating: 10

When Julianna was in 2nd grade, Bryce moved in across the street from her. From that day forward, Julianna has been completely crazy over him. Maybe it was his eyes, maybe his smile. It didn’t matter, she loved him. That is, until she found out what he was really about. Who was he anyway? He doesn’t seem very nice. In fact, he’s down right mean…… Then one day she decides that she is DONE with Bryce. Looks like she has finally flipped.
Bryce has been avoiding that annoying girl since 2nd grade, but he soon comes to realize that he has spent so much time ignoring her that he actually doesn’t know her. Who was she anyway? What is she like? The more he thinks about it, the more he wants to find out. After all these years he has finally flipped, but will it be too late?

This book is about a young boy who is trying to survive in the huge situation he is in right now. They call him Ponyboy, a fourteen year old boy that is already involved in a gang, he lives with his two brothers,Soda and Darry. They are a group of boys that are called “ Greasers” and they look for each other a lot. The boys are always aware of the Socs, a violent group that has no limit to anything. It will be hard for Ponyboy because he only has his brothers to be with. Will they be able to confess or stay in the abandoned church for the rest of their lives?

Junie B. Jones is Captain of Field Day-Review by Nicole F.

Nicole’s Rating: 4

It is Field Day at Junie’s school. She has been waiting for weeks for this day and has bee driving her family up the wall talking about it. When she gets to school her and Grace, Junie’s best friend who is also the fastest girl in Room 9, volunteer to be captain. Junie is chosen, but she takes being captain the wrong way and bosses everyone around. They lose the first events because of her and this weak little boy named Crybaby William. On the last event all of Room 9 is so bummed about losing that no one volunteers to do the pull ups. They watch Strong Frankie do 7 pull ups and are sure Room 8 is going to win. At the last minute William steps up to the bars and does 11 pull ups. Room 9 is SO happy that they finally won the last event and are shocked that Crybaby William was the one to win it. Junie B. learns that there is more to being team captain than just being in charge and gives her cape up to William. She learns a valuable lesson and is happy that he was the one to save Field Day.
I liked this book because it talked about the importance of being a good sport and never giving up. I didn’t like this book because the grammar is vary bad which makes it hard to read.
